AMC vs. Pay-Per-Service: Which Actually Saves You More?
This is one of the most common questions we get from customers with more than one AC unit. Here's how to actually think about it.
What pay-per-service looks like
You call us when something goes wrong or once a year for a general clean. You pay for that single visit, no recurring commitment.
What an AMC includes
Scheduled visits (typically 2-4 per year depending on the plan), included filter/coil cleaning, discounted spare parts, and priority booking during peak summer when everyone else is waiting days for a technician.
When pay-per-service makes sense
- You have a single unit used lightly (e.g. a guest room)
- Your unit is new and still under manufacturer warranty with included service
When an AMC usually saves money
- You have 2 or more units running regularly
- Your units are 3+ years old (more prone to issues without preventive care)
- You value not having to wait in the summer queue when everyone's AC fails at once
- You want predictable annual costs instead of surprise repair bills
The math: one unexpected compressor-related repair often costs more than a full year of AMC for that same unit — and AMC customers get priority scheduling exactly when it matters most (the first heatwave of the season, when non-AMC customers can wait days).
