Pre-Summer AC Maintenance Checklist for Pune Homes
Every year, we see a spike in emergency calls in the first heatwave of the season — most of which could have been avoided with a 20-minute check a few weeks earlier. Here's what we recommend before summer sets in:
1. Clean or replace the filter
A clogged filter is the single biggest cause of poor cooling and high electricity bills. If you can see dust buildup, it's overdue.
2. Check the outdoor unit clearance
Make sure nothing is blocking airflow around your outdoor condenser — leaves, storage boxes, and even balcony grilles can restrict airflow and reduce efficiency.
3. Listen for unusual noises
Rattling, buzzing, or grinding sounds usually mean a loose part or a failing compressor component — better to catch it now than mid-heatwave.
4. Check refrigerant performance
If your AC takes longer than usual to cool a room, low refrigerant (often from a slow leak) could be the cause. This needs a professional gas pressure check, not a DIY top-up.
5. Test on a mild day, not the hottest one
Run your AC for 30 minutes on a cooler day. If something's wrong, you'll have time to book a technician before the real heat arrives.
6. Consider an AMC
If you're resetting reminders every year, an Annual Maintenance Contract handles the scheduling for you — and gets you priority booking during peak season.
Need a professional check before summer? Book a visit and we'll have a technician out same-day in most parts of Kondhwa and surrounding Pune areas.
